The Barents Spektakel is over for another year and all of us on the Barents Spektakel team would like to send our warmest thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Barents Spektakel one of the best yet. Without the support we receive from the community, volunteers, partners, sponsors and our audience, the Barents Spektakel would not happen. Thanks and we can’t wait to see you next year for the 14th Barents Spektakel kicking off on the 7th of February 2018!!

It is important to keep mind and body in good shape during the busy Barents Spektakel festival days. After long nights of discussions, music and exploring the Flying Bar Sever7 a good workout is just what is needed. Everyday at 12:00 we meet in the town square for a quick and nourishing workout preparing you for the festival day ahead. Today, Liv Hanne Haugen led the exercise session amongst the Russian stalls of Barents Bazaar. Join us and exercise leader Morten Traavik tomorrow for Polar Biomechanics. For young and old!

The ice arena for the Barents Speltakel project ‘The Trial of the Century’ is under construction. In only two days, a team of 14 men pulled 190 tonnes of ice from Kirkenes’ second lake to provide the building blocks for Norway’s largest ice-sculpture.
