Concert: Ljodahått (NO)

Not Exactly Nordic Poetic Folk Rock 

Ljodahått, which can be translated as ‘troll song’ or ‘magic song’ from Old Norse, is a project initiated by the Norwegian actor Magne Håvard Brekke who has drawn the repertoire from both the ancient and the modern poets such as Edda to Henrik Ibsen, Knut Hamsun, Sigbjørn Obstfelder, Olav H. Hauge, Tor Ulven and Tarjei Vesaas. Brekke, together with some of the best actors, musicians and composers that he met during a journey throughout Europe, puts these poems to music and performs them in Norwegian in a true fusion of genres – celebrating and re-inventing Norway’s cultural heritage.
