The Barents Spektakel festival newspaper is hot off the press and gives an in-depth look at the festival programme for 2017. Published in Norwegian, English and Russian, the newspaper is made with our cooperation partner, Sør-Varanger Avis.

High atop one of Kirkenes most iconic structures Braden Mayfield from BANDALOOP, John Henrik from Valy (sound/light/stage), Geir from Kimek and Pikene på Broen’s artistic director Luba Kuzovnikova scouted the location of the 2017 Barents Spektakel Opening Show.

Peder Istad and Morten Traavik inspected the ice depth on Kirkenes’ Andrevatn in preparation for the Barents Spektakel and Traavik.info project ‘The Trial of the Century’ (‘Århundrets rettssak’,’Суд века’). Peder Istad is a Norwegian sculptor commissioned to create the arena for the project taking place at Paviljongparken during the Barents Spektakel 2017.
