Preparations for the Barents Spektakel 2017 Opening Show High Above Kirkenes
High atop one of Kirkenes most iconic structures Braden Mayfield from BANDALOOP, John Henrik from Valy (sound/light/stage), Geir Løvberg from Kimek and Pikene på Broen’s artistic director Luba Kuzovnikova scouted the location of the 2017 Barents Spektakel Opening Show.
The awe-inspiring vertical performance by BANDALOOP will use the disused crane on the Kimek harbour as a stage and the arctic landscape as a backdrop. The public performance will mark the official opening of the festival and reactivate the Kirkenes landmark with new life. Supporting the innovative, graceful and dynamic BANDALOOP performance will be music, light and fireworks display.
The Opening Show of the Barents Spektakel / Barents Days 2017 will take place on Wednesday the 8th of February at 18:15. Follow the programme for more information closer to the festival dates.
